capribornioWelp, here we go. Second verse, different from the past. ...And also longer. Like, way longer. Too long for a single post, methinks. So! This is just gonna be the Introduction + Part 1.
Let’s go, with my fic “Everything’s the same except Esplin takes Essam’s place in the flashbacks” (yes, I know now Essam’s name! Still no new title tho)
Oh, oh! New update! The title is officially:
Vissers
It's Edriss/Esplin (obviously), aaand it's both shameless fluff (hey, canon went there first) and Angst (cause what's Ani without Angst). Also Worldbulding (yeerk culture! Hork bajir culture!), timeline building (I stg half of this fic is me strangling canon and going “I Will make the timeline fit so help me Ellimist”), and many more fun things. And since the fic’s quite Long, I divided it in parts. Not only that, but I will (hopefully) write both the main fic, and its continuation(s):

Summary:
Visser Three had finally captured Visser One. He had seen her being allied with the Andalite bandits, and now he could expose her as a traitor to the Council of Thirteen. He would show the Yeerk Empire what a failure of a conqueror she was. And then he would finally become Visser One.
Visser One knew she had little hope. The case was strong, as was the evidence. Her only hope was to humiliate Visser Three, so that his case would fall apart. Yet she didn't know how. She would be killed, if she couldn't expose him in time. But the only thing she could do, not only would condemn her too, but it was something that had always been off limits. Yet, did she had another option?
The trial would begin soon, and with it...
Repressed memories from long ago...
The best day of Esplin's life suddenly became his worst. He had finally succeeded in his longlife ambition: he had an Andalite host. But he soon found himself being sent across space and time, suddenly stuck back again as Hork Bajir. He was now in a base in the corner of the galaxy, where he would meet a yeerk with big dreams of conquering Earth.
This is the story of two yeerks.
And how nothing changed.
Except it did.
Part 1: How It Began, here it goes.
Basically, the Ellimist, my favorite trash son, after Elfangor and Loren used the Time Matrix, just kinda... picked Esplin outta Alloran, stuffed him back in his Hork Bajir body, and sent him to the base where Edriss works. Having lost both the Matrix and the Andalite, Esplin was forced to work with Edriss, as he was the only Yeerk that had possessed an human, and so the only one who had a vague idea where Earth was. Also, Esplin had arrived almost a year after his disappearance, so his Alloran knowledge was... pretty useless, since the Andalites had been alerted to Alloran’s capture, and made sure any knowledge that he had became old news. (And Edriss was close to find Earth by herself, Esplin knowledge just helped find it faster)
But since nobody would listen to them, as they didn't have much respect for someone who managed to lose controlling Alloran, they both escaped to Earth, Edriss (who had actually found it) knowing that this was her chance for the Big Promotion, Esplin a bit of that, a bit of Wanting Revenge on the human race who Ruined Everything.
They pretty much loathe each other at first, both seeing the other as the Enemy that could take away their power.
Something something several murder attempts to each other in their Hork Bajir hosts something Esplin is forced to be Edriss Earth’s expert ala Ax with aliens and it’s hilarious (he also knows what’s a Star Trek and ends up repeating Chapman’s Opinions about it)
Anyway, once on Earth (it’s... Big) they make a temporal peace treaty (proposed by Esplin). As long as it’s just the two of them assholes, they won’t try to kill each other, as Earth is Overwhelming for two aliens, let alone one.
They go directly to L.A. following Chapman’s memories of there being Important People.
Since capturing low class people is easier than Important People, they decide to look for who to capture. Edriss suggests a woman who seems dazed, but Esplin recognizes the dangers of drugs. Which there is to say, Chapman sat through those “Say No To Drugs!” campaigns at school and it managed to scare Esplin.
Actually on further research, its seems that those campaigns began on the ’80, but what did happen on the ’71 was Nixon announcing the beginning of the War on Drugs. Which just means that as far as Edriss can parse from Esplin’s memories of Chapman’s impression of what he overhead his parents talking, these people are soldiers in some kinda war. Which’s hilarious. Not to mention, Esplin’s impression (etc) is that the drug addicts are kinda like Taxxons, constantly craving for More, and in deep pain if they don’t get what they need (esplin vc: “except that humans just do this to themselves. do you see why humans suck edriss”)
Edriss becomes a Human Stan even before having a human host, just to specifically spite Esplin, since he doesn’t shut the fuck up about how the Humans are the Actual Worst and Andalites are so clearly Superior.
So since drug addicts are off the table, they have to find someone(s) who won’t be missed if their body disappears, but who is clean of drugs. So they end up capturing two young (around, like, 19) criminals.
The boy, Luke, gets first infested by Esplin (E&E absolutely have a Fight over who should infest a human first. Esplin’s argument is that he knows about humanity and he knows what to look for in their memories. Edriss’ argument is that if he fucking hates humans so much, then why he should get to infest them first. Esplin [somehow] manages to win).
Esplin finds what he’s looking for: Luke (and as far the boy knows, the girl too) is completely clean of drugs. Additionally, while Luke has a small band of friends (also young criminals, no problems if they disappear but they might be difficult to get rid of), the girl, Vicky, is Know for being a Loner.
Edriss infests her, confirming that Vicky has only consumed drugs once, and deciding they were trash she wanted no part of, she never took them again. Also, now that she has a human host, Edriss realizes that being human is Actually Pretty Cool, Suck On That Esplin (“and this is why you’re a fucking idiot edriss”)
Satisfied with their new hosts, Edriss and Esplin kill their previous Hork Bajir hosts, destroying their bodies, and hide their ship and alien tech, then going to their new homes in a shitty neighbour in a dark part of LA.

Welp, there its is! Next up, probably: Playlist! Can’t write without music, but you can tell what I’m going to write through the playlist. Which’s why I’m only sticking to writing ‘bout the songs for each published part. ...And also because if I started writing about the entire thing, I would never finish.
