I still haven't seen it, nor Age of Ultron. Are they worth a watch?

I'm biased in favor of Ultron, cause I love Tony and Bruce and their relationship. If you're not much a fan... eh. It's entertaining? Although it also has that stupid Bruce/Nat sideplot that I will never understand. But it also has Wanda and Vision, so. Maybe watch it?
Ant-Man is very entertaining, but it sidelines its female characters, which I'm forever bitter about. Scott, however, is fantastic and I love him. Check it out sometime you have time to kill, I think.

I love science bros, and I like the idea of Ultron/Vision/JARVIS' situation, but I don't trust Joss Whedon (see: Bruce/Nat sideplot).

I'm not sure why it strikes me as strange that Paul Rudd would be cast in the MCU but it throws me a little every time. I probably ought to get around to finally watching both. I think they're the only films I haven't seen in MCU.

Oh yeah, several things about Nat... they're definitely not great, IMHO. However, I thought the science bros stuff was excellent, they had a good friendship with interesting conflicts.
Ha, I have the same thing with Cumberbatch, and I /like/ Doctor Strange.

I'm happy that Scott Lang is finally getting the attention that he deserves, though yeah, the Ant-Man films definitely haven't been the best in the franchise (then again, I feel like there are a lot of MCU movies that were alright at best). It's kind of funny seeing how many people suddenly really like this character despite having not seen him in anything besides Civil War, if that.

Haven't seen the second so I can't comment on that, however, yeah, there's some movies whoch are fantastic and some which are... yeah. Tbh the sudden attention Ant-Man's getting reminds me of how a good part of the fandom did a 180° on Doctor Strange after Infinity War. (Although part of the reason why so many people ignored his film was discourse about racism as well hate at Cumberbatch, which suddenly dissapeared after IW. Anyway.) Honestly, it makes me happy that characters whose movies were ignored finally get the attention they deserve, I think.

Honestly, the second one was less remarkable to me than the first, which I honestly wasn't expecting because of the cast. Hmm, that's actually a really good point, though I will admit that I'm still not really on board with Doctor Strange (partially for the aforementioned reasons, but primarily because his character didn't really captivate me in either IW or Thor: Ragnorak, and my friends who had watched the move told me it was another one that wasn't remarkable apart from CGI). But I agree that it is nice for the greater ensemble to be getting more attention, so at least it will generate more interest in these movies that would otherwise be skipped. It's also nice that everyone is able to get a good feel for characters like Scott and Doctor Strange without having to have seen their previous movies to understand what their motivations are. This is definitely something I feel like Marvel has been doing well with, especially in comparison to other franchises (looking at you, DC and Fantastic Beasts).

Heh, I liked his movie, but I did paid more attention to it afer IW (it also got me shipping Ironstrange...)
Don't even talk to me about DC movies. Most of them are... SIGHS. It's sad because comic/cartoon-wise I'm more of a DC fan, but the writing team for the movies are really, really not great. I don't mind Fantastic Beasts that much, since they're more of what I mentally call "direct sequels/prequels" that the ensemble cast of DC/Marvel. Still, yeah.

It actually wasn't that boring, I just thought the first film played on the comedy better than the second. Of course, there were some parts I thought were rather weak, but I didn't think these particular problems were worse than how it was handled in the first film or even in the majority of other MCU movies. I actually thought they handled some parts better in the sequel than in the first. I enjoyed it, and if you were looking forward to it, I think you should still see it. I just feel like in a couple of months, when I try to compare the two, I'll remember them pretty equally despite not having seen the first in a while.

Haha, that's fair, and I'll admit that I was kind of intrigued by the dynamics between Strange and Stark while watching IW (though, I was already wanting to see what they'd do with RDJ and Cumberbatch because of them both having played Sherlock Holmes before... kind of a stupid drive, but eh).

Oh, I agree with the that. I also really enjoyed watching the cartoons a while ago (particularly Young Justice and Teen Titans when I was younger). I guess to be a little more fair to FB, the original series wasn't really that much of an ensemble either, because the stories were always centered around Harry. Unfortunately for FB, the movies won't work if they tried to focus on Newt, as much as I like him as a character. But yeah. It's actually kind of funny because, for a while, DC was arguably doing a lot better than Marvel... The difference good directors and writers can make is astonishing.

That makes sense. How was the Wasp handled? I heard that they say she and Ant-Man are equals, buut I have my doubts.
I was absolutely waiting for a Sherlock joke and midly disappointed when I didn't get one.
Yeah, the cartoons are so good. I am always and forever be a Batman The Animated Series fan, and I never get tired of rereading the BTAS comics. (Great fan of Batman Beyond, too) To be fair to Marvel, I really like the animated Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and that new Marvel Rising looks hella interesting (hope they do lots of things with that)
