Animorphs fic writing
Ok, less "writing" and more "writing dowm notes about the story" but! It's still Ideas that Are Not Just On My Brain Anymore.
Aaand it's a new AU, cause I don't have enough with my Animorph Erek AU (I will post about it one day, I swear)
Also, this Writing Stuff Down is messy cause I haven't reread Visser yet, will probably make a separate post with any changes to this AU once I do.
I call it the "Everything's the same except Esplin is the other yeerk in the Visser flashbacks" AU (...working title)
It's Edriss/Esplin (obviously), aaand it's both shameless fluff (hey, canon went there first) and Angst (cause what's Ani without Angst)
Basically! The Ellimist, my favorite trash son, after Elfangor and Loren used the Time Matrix, just kinda... picked Esplin outta Alloran, stuffed him back in his Hork Bajir body, and sent him to the lost base where Edriss works. Having lost both the Matrix and the Andalite, Esplin was forced to work with Edriss, as he was the only Yeerk that had possesed an human, and so the only one who had a vague idea where Earth was. But since nobody would listen to them, as they didn't have much respect for someone who managed to lose controlling Alloran, they both escaped to Earth, Edriss (who had actually found it) knowing that this was her chance for the Big Promotion, Esplin a bit of that, a bit of Wanting Revenge.
They pretty much loathe each other at first, both seeing the other as the Enemy that could take away their power. But on Earth, with no one but each other, they start to see their similarities and stuff. (And kiss kiss fall in love etc)
Anyway! Their Falling For Each Other is p different that canon (...canon Edriss/Whatever Was His Name that is) (unrelated, they also go directly to Hollywood, since Esplin is like "ah yes, that's where the Famous People live", since he had the knowledge of a thirteen year old)
First cause, again, they gotta get over how much they don't like/trust each other (although, like, Esplin totally trusted her first/he was the most willing to Work Together), but also, because Esplin is less... influenced by the human than WWHN was. Not completely, mind you (Esplin, really Despite Himself, does become a bit kinder, a little less self centered [by about two inches, but nvm]). Then, Esplin is also All About Taking Over the World, and while canon Edriss kinda... not exactly forgot about it, but it wasn't her 100% priority, in this AU they just go from petty fighting about who gets to dominate it to discussing their evil plans while cuddling.
And yeah, babies happen. Oooops. (It the '80 so contraceptions and abortions are..
Well. And hey, they kinda still need this body So) (Also they're not named like canon cause Darwin?? Really Applegate. Really. I'm going for diff symbolism anyway so it's Ellen amd Eric. E names heck yeah) And just like canon, this is were Shit Hits The Fan, but for a very different reason that canon. See, WWHN had Compassion for the humans, and realized Edriss was... Well. Messed up, and was willing to throw the humans away and keep the babies while Taking Over the World. Esplin, on the other hand, most definitely also had another body he was going to permanently switch to, and also didn't give a shit about the humans. But he did realize they couldn't be Parents and also Evil Overlords, while Edriss liked to pretend that was Absolutely Doable. (Esplin was outwardly "well I don't care about these tiny humans" which Edriss didn't buy for a second, but she also metaphorically covered her ears when Esplin tried to confront her about the Real reason he was insistent about giving up the twins).
So, their relationship soured, and in a Very Important Moment when Edriss was Away Esplin recieved a very Interesting message.
See, Alloran had woken up Esplinless in the broken Jahar. For some miracle, the shields were working again, and... That was everything that had gotten miracuosly repaired. He was stuck in the ship, drifting through space. And he wasn't near the black hole. After quite some time, he found himself somehow near Earth, and in a moment of desperation, he sent a message that he hoped would reach Elfangor, as he suspected he had run away to Earth. ...Elfangor was not on Earth anymore, and Someone did pick up the message.
Anyway, Esplin now had a Way to get out,

Ok, so. I started writing this post somewhere late september/early october. It takes Time to write, and I have ADHD, so. Anyway, bottom line is my phone broke for about a month. Finally, yesterday I got it back. But in that time, I was still thinking about my AU! (...and my AUs of my AU) So, basically, there’s parts of what’s written above that doesn’t fit anymore. So! I’m going to take the post, and edit it until it fits. But I wanted to preserve what I had already written, so I’m gonna do it in a different post.
...Will probably take quite some time to write, even assuming my phone doesn’t break again.
